What to bring

Bring enough food for two lunches plus extra snacks such as sandwiches, nuts, or chocolate, along with at least two litres of water. Make sure you have sturdy hiking shoes, a wind- and waterproof shell jacket, and a comfortable mid layer for insulation. Pack warm clothes to wear in the evening when you are sitting still, as well as spare socks, a cap or hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a headlamp. Carry everything in a backpack with a minimum capacity of 40 litres, and if you are doing a Via Ferrata, gloves with good grip are recommended. If rain and low temperatures are forecasted, also bring wind- and waterproof shell pants, an extra warm mid layer, a woollen base layer (avoid cotton, as it becomes very cold when wet), a beanie or headband, and gloves.
