Levi: Snowmobile Adventure to Kivijärvi Lake (100 KM)

Combine an enduring snowmobile ride through the fairytale winter landscape, away from the tourist crowds, with ice fishing, a typical Lappish hobby!

The safari starts at our office in Levi, where you will receive warm driving gear and clear driving instructions from the guide. We drive by snowmobile through snow-covered forests and swamps towards Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Enjoy the feeling of being a small part of the overwhelming nature! After an extensive snowmobile ride, we reach our private wilderness lake, Kivijärvi, where we come to the highlight of the safari: ice fishing. You can catch perch, whitefish and even trout on Kivijärvi. We provide all the equipment needed for ice fishing. You don't need any previous experience - the guide will show you what ice fishing is all about and off you go! You can drill a hole yourself with the ice or use the holes pre-drilled by the guide. Put the worm on the hook, into the water and then just wait for the tug on the line. The guide will gut your catch and you can choose to grill it over the fire and eat it or take it with you. We also roast sausages and make coffee over the open fire. There will be nobody here but us. The landscape is magnificent. After the break, we return to Levi on a snowmobile.

• Price: Adult 258€/person in shared snowmobile. If adult want to drive alone on own snowmobile without a passenger, the price is 346 €/person.

Please note

Things worth knowing about snowmobile safaris:

• This safari is available only as private experience.

• All snowmobiles are insured (notice self liability on snowmobile). Self liability in case of accident is max.1500 € for the Premium snowmobiles.

• The minimum age for riding a snowmobile is 18 years. The rider must possess a driving licence and this licence must be carried at all times when riding the snowmobile!

• Children are sitting on a sledge during the safari. Children over 120 cm tall can sit on the back of the snowmobile as passengers. Please note, our guide make the final decision of child´s seating regarding the safety reasons.

• Driving under influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Alcohol tolerance on safaris is zero (0).

• For your own safety, please take any possible necessary medications with you on the safari (asthma inhalers, insulin, heart medicines, etc.).

• We do not recommend participating on a snowmobile safari if you are pregnant.

• Remember to wear at least the next under the thermal overall: long armed and trouser leg underwear (set of sportive underwear is good), warm socks and second layer of fleece or woolen material. Pull the thermal overall on these. Remember: Colder the weather is more layers you need!
