Glacier Snowmobile Tour

Join us for a thrilling ride to the summit of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, the ice cap that envelopes one of Iceland’s most massive mountains, Mt. Katla.

Our adventure begins at the main base located at Ytri-Sólheimar 1. Here, we will outfit you with insulated winter overalls to keep you warm during your expedition. After a brief introduction to the day's activities, we'll board our super jeeps and ascend the mountain to reach the snowmobile base.

Upon arrival, our guides will offer a short training session on how to operate the snowmobiles, along with vital safety procedures. With the training complete, it's time to rev up your engines and journey to the top of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Rest assured, this tour promises a scenic yet comfortably challenging snowmobiling experience that provides a superb way to immerse yourself in the breathtaking wilderness of Iceland.

As we traverse the fourth largest glacier in Iceland, rising to heights of up to 1510 meters, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the South Coast. Reaching the summit is a rewarding endeavor in itself; it is here that we'll disembark from our snowmobiles to stand above the famed Katla caldera, which lies approximately 750 meters below the glacier's surface, housing one of Iceland's most well-known volcanoes.
