Expirince Stuðlagil canyon and the nature of East Iceland. In this private tour you will see the waterfall Rjúkandi and take a short hike to the famous Studlagil canyon. Our guide will walk with you and tell you stories about the locals and the region that we will travel through.

Food is not provided on this tour. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lunch or snacks. Light refreshments may be available for purchase if the food truck near the canyon is open.
Clothing or personal gear
Guests must bring appropriate outdoor clothing, sturdy walking shoes, and any personal gear needed for the hike or changing weather.
Free restroom access at all stops
Some rest stops may require payment to use restroom facilities. We recommend bringing small change or a credit card just in case.

All sites visited on this tour are natural and free to access – no entrance fees apply.
What to expect?
Pick up is in Egilsstaðir (If pickup is not in Egilsstaðir please contact us). Next we drive to Jökuldalur and we will make a short stop at the beautiful waterfall named Rjúkandi.
After enjoying the waterfall we drive off to Stuðlagil canyon. Just before we arrive to the canyon we have to walk for roughly 30 minutes to get the best view of the canyon. We will stop and enjoy the scenery for approximately 60 minutes. After enjoying the nature we get back to the car.
You have the possibility to get something to eat and use the restroom at the parking lot before and after we walk to the canyon. Then we drive back to Egilsstaðir.
Please keep in mind to dress according to weather. The weather in Iceland can change without warning.
What to bring
Include a waterproof and windproof outer layer. Even in summer, temperatures can be low in the highlands.
Good walking shoes or hiking boots
Closed-toe shoes with a sturdy sole are essential for the uneven ground near the canyon.
Hat and gloves (even in summer)
Especially useful on windy days or if the weather shifts.
Reusable water bottle (we provide one, but bring more if needed)
Stay hydrated during the hike and travel.
Camera or smartphone
You’ll want to capture the beauty of Stuðlagil and the East Icelandic landscape.
