What to expect?
On August 12th, 2026, a long-awaited celestial event will be seen from western Iceland - the country's first total solar eclipse since 1954.
BusTravel Iceland is offering a special tour focusing on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where we will seek out the best possible viewing location for the eclipse - along the way, we will visit some of the region´s prime attractions - Kirkjufell mountain, Arnarstapi, and much more.
Please note
The duration of the tour is 12 hours
There is no food included on this tour. As the area will be very busy on this day, and we don' t have an exact schedule, we recommend bringing lunch packs with you - we will make a stop at a grocery store in Borgarnes early in the day.
As we cannot guarantee clear skies in any one location, the schedule and stops can change at short notice
