Over 4 days and 3 nights, discover the breathtaking landscapes of southern Iceland, from Reykjavík through the Golden Circle and along the dramatic South Coast. Your adventure begins with the iconic trio of Thingvellir National Park, Geysir, and Gullfoss, continues with powerful waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches, and concludes with an active volcano hike and a Northern Lights tour.

Stay in comfortable countryside hotels, explore charming coastal villages, and enjoy spectacular views of waterfalls, glaciers, lava fields, and volcanic landscapes throughout the itinerary. Travel in a well-equipped minibus with an experienced English-speaking guide, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey from start to finish. Transfers, transportation, glacier equipment, guided activities, and accommodation are all included.

Simply arrive in Reykjavík on your selected date and follow the program. Book your return flight for a departure on the fifth day. This is a guided holiday program, suitable for anyone of normal health who enjoys light hiking and outdoor adventure.

You will be picked up from your selected pick-up location at the time stated on your voucher, please note that it can take up to 30 minutes to be picked up.

Day 1: Explore the Golden Circle and South Coast

On the first day of this 4-day Golden Circle and South Coast tour you'll explore the famous Golden Circle. Thingvellir National Park will be our first stop, followed by the hot spring area of Geysir, where you can expect to see Strokkur geyser erupt every 10 minutes. The last part of the Golden Circle is the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall.

Next, experience the drive down route 1 that will lead us to the famous Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. On a clear day, you will have the opportunity to see the two surrounding glaciers. Next is the coastal village of Vik before we head to our countryside hotel.

Day 2: Hike Glaciers and Explore Ice Caves

We continue our journey towards Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. In Skaftafell National park you will meet our certified glacier guides and embark on a glacier hiking and ice caving tour on Falljökull. Ice Caves are only found during the wintertime when the glacial rivers retract and the water freezes and they can look completely different every year.

Day 3: Discover Black Sand Beaches and Scenic Canyons

We will start early today. On the way back to Reykjavik, really close to Vík we will find Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach, which is also famous for its basalt columns, called Reynisdrangar. If the conditions are right you can expect a visit to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. There are a lot of amazing places on the south coast so we will make some additional stops today before making our way back to the city.

Day 4: Experience Volcano Hiking and Hunt for Northern Lights

After a great breakfast at your hotel, you will check out of the hotel. In the morning you will be picked up for your Active Volcano Hiking tour at Geldingadalir, where you will experience the true power of nature. After the hiking tour, you will be dropped off back at the hotel where you stayed, now you will have some free time to explore Reykjavík. In the evening you will be picked up for your Northern Lights tour. Around midnight you will be dropped off back in Reykjavík, where you complete your tour.
