What to expect?
At Adventure Vikings we offer an incredible lava tunnel caving experience inside the magnificent Leidarendi cave in Iceland. Together we will explore the hidden world of the lava fields as we will take you down to The End of the Road (I. Leiðarendi).
The cave we will explore is called - Leiðarendi. It is a 900m lasting cave that lies — in fact — in a circle. The cave is pitch black without light, but you will be given a helmet and headlight to easily see the wonders that the cave has to offer. You will observe unique rock formations, like stalactites and shelves. Some light crawling may be required yet Leiðarendi cave has rather direct access to the underworld wonders of the Icelandic lava fields. Fascinating fact: The lava above the cave was formatted more than 2000 years ago.
So what are you waiting for? Join us today to discover the world underneath the lava. Please note: Don't forget your camera! Alternatively, you can rent a GoPro from us. Please bring comfortable shoes and clothing for inside the cave - it can drip wet from time to time. Please bring lunch or a snack.
