What to expect?
Start your trip from Reykjavik Domestic Airport, just a five-minute drive from the city center. Experience the breathtaking sights on an Icelandic volcano helicopter tour. On this round trip to an active volcano, you’ll gaze down at pouring hot lava.
The tour lasts 30–35 minutes, flying over both the oldest and newest eruption sites. There is no landing at the eruption site, but you’ll enjoy the best possible view from the air. Please note that eruptions are natural events and may or may not be active during your tour.
Recent eruptions in the Reykjanes Peninsula include: Fagradalsfjall (March 19 – September 2021), Meradalir (August 3, 2022), Litli-Hrútur (July 10/August 2023), Sundhnúkur (December 2023), and activity in January, February, and March 2024.
After booking, we will confirm your exact starting time. We will also ask for additional information, including your phone number, email, and approximate weight of each passenger.
All flights are weather dependent and must follow rules set by the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management. If the weather is not suitable, we will either:
A) Change your flight to a different time the same day,
B) Offer a different date, or
C) Provide a full refund if no other options are available.

What to bring
For this helicopter tour, it’s good to bring warm clothing, a jacket, hat, gloves, sturdy shoes, and a camera to capture the stunning views. Layers are best, as it can be windy and chilly on Icelandic mountain tops, even if it’s warm inside the helicopter.
