Join us on a full-day adventure deep into Iceland’s remote highlands as we explore the breathtaking Landmannalaugar by super jeeps - famed for its colorful rhyolite mountains, lava fields, and geothermal hot springs. This scenic journey from Reykjavik offers a perfect mix of rugged landscapes, photo-worthy stops, hiking for all levels, and relaxation in nature.
Begin your day with a pickup from Reykjavik, Hveragerdi, Selfoss or Hella. You'll meet your guide, get a quick overview of the day’s adventure, have time to grab a packed lunch and head east Iceland’s stunning highlands.
On route we will take some stops for some photos of the breath-taking area of black lava fields with views of the infamous Hekla Volcano in the distance and Frostastadavatn turquoise Lake.
Next, we take you to the iconic Landmannalaugar, where we spend 3 hours exploring. With hiking options available for all skill levels! Your guide will advise you on the perfect hike. The most popular route is the Laugahraun Loop, which approx. 4.7km and takes approximately 1.5–2 hrs through lava fields and rhyolite hills. End your hike with a relaxing soak in the natural hot spring near at the Landmannalaugar campsite, so do not forget your swimsuit and towel.
On our way back, we take the Sigölduleið route and make a stop at the Hnausapollur (Bláhlyur), a large volcanic crater with striking blue water inside. Then, we visit the famous Sigöldugljúfur known as they Valley of Tears because of its multiple smaller waterfalls cascading into the canyon, and Hjálparfoss- a final scenic stop at this double waterfall framed by basalt columns., before returning to Reykjavik.

If needed, guests must provide their own child car seat. Icelandic law requires children under 135 cm to use a child car seat. Children under 150 cm may not sit in front of an active airbag.
If conditions prevent access to Landmannalaugar, the tour will be adjusted to a highlands waterfall adventure.
Hikes in Landmannalaugar are self-guided.

What to bring
Please bring a swimsuit and towel if you plan to dip in the geothermal pool, and dress according to the weather with water- and windproof outerwear. Sturdy hiking boots, headwear, gloves, a camera, and enough food, drinks, and snacks are also recommended.
