Day 1: Discover Iceland (L, D)
Welcome to Iceland! Your flight comes in at 6am to 7am in the morning. We will go straight to the Blue Lagoon for a hot water indulgence. At the Blue Lagoon you will be treated to the rich silica and mineral waters of the Blue Lagoon. Your premium treatment includes entrance to the hot water, a towel, a mask at the mask bar, two drinks, and two additional masks at the mask bar. Don´t forget your swimsuit! You should be nice and relaxed after the Blue Lagoon experience and ready to move on to the island nation´s capital, Reykjavik.
You will be staying at the Apotek Hotel. Revered as one of the most remarkable buildings in the capital, Apotek Hotel finds its home in what was once Pharmacy Reykjavikur Apotek (Apothecary). It was originally designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, former State Architect of Iceland, in 1917 and was carefully restored to now house 45 guestrooms and suites.
Walking tour of Reykjavik touching all the important places and lunch. You have time to yourself, before meeting at 20:00 for an Icelandic Feast at Torfan restaurant. Torfan was recently opened and specializes in Nordic Cuisine. The house is one of Reykjavik´s oldest buildings with a Danish history. Dates from 1838.
(40 min on the road. Northern Lights possible to see from 6pm)
Day 2: Explore Geothermal Heat and Food (B, L, D)
Today we will start with the “Golden Circle”. We will see the “Althing” the oldest parliament located on the Mid – Atlantic ridge (where the continental plates of Europe and America meet). Possibility to go snorkeling on the continental divide. We will see Geysir and Gullfoss (Strokkur and Golden Waterfall) before setting off to a indoor tomato farm, which is Iceland´s biggest. The greenhouses grow about 45% of Iceland´s tomatoes, using geothermal heat and lights. We will have lunch here.
From here we will go back to Reykjavik. Dinner tonight served at one of Reykjavik´s oldest restaurants, Þrír Frakkar, around since the mid-80´s. Puffin, Whale, and the Auk, seabird are on the menu. For those that would like to go light fish and vegetarian cuisine is also available.
(3 hours on the road. Northern lights possible from 5:30pm)
Day 3: Experience Iceland’s Scenery in a Day (B, L, D)
See all of Iceland in one place. Snæfellsness peninsula is renowned and named a geopark since most of Iceland´s geology can be seen on the peninsula, including a glacier. The day starts off with a soak in the new Hvammsvik hot tubs in Hvalfjörður (“Whale Fjord”). We will have lunch on the premises after the bath experience.
After we continue to Snæfellsness to see the geological features. Shark bites, known as Hákarl, will be served with Icelandic “Black Death” brandy at the Greenland Shark Museum. We will stay in the picturesque Stykkishólmur in a beautiful historic house that has been turned into a wonderful hotel. Dinner at the Sjávarpakkhusid (the old fish factory). It will be a 10 course seafood delight.
(3 hours on the road. Northern Lights possible from 5:30pm)
Day 4: Journey North to the Northern Lights (B, L, D)
Today we have a scenic drive to the north country. Soon after leaving Stykkishólmur and Breiðafjörður (the broad fjord), one of the most photographed places in Iceland, we will make photo and instagram stops on the way. The road will bring us up to Iceland´s “Arctic Coast Way”, a breathtaking journey through picturesque fishing villages, windswept black sand beaches, dramatic fjords, and untouched Arctic wilderness.
We will stop for a swim on the way at Grétar´s pool. Legend has it that Grétar was an outlaw about 1100 years ago, and according to Icelandic sagas, the strongest man in the world. After our pool dip, we will continue. Lunch will be served at Iceland´s oldest bakery in Sauðarkrokur.
We continue along the Arctic Coast Way until we reach Eyjafjord, where we will spend the next nights at the Hjalteyri Lodge, nested on top of the hill that overlooks the fjord. This location is certain to give good views of northern lights in the evenings. Dinner will be served at Eyri, one of the north´s best restaurants, serving old, traditional food in a modern way.
(5 hours on the road. Northern Lights possible from 4:55pm)
Day 5: Discover Icelandic History and the Arctic Circle at Grimsey (B, L, D)
We will start the day at Laufás, a traditional Icelandic turf house. Tour and eat what the Vikings ate. The tour continues to Iceland´s Whale Watching Capital, Húsavik. We will stop at Goðafoss (Waterfall of the God´s) on the way. Húsavik, possibly Iceland´s oldest town, is Europe´s hotspot for whale watching.
We will board an old schooner called “Hildur” for a food and whale watching experience. Hildur will bring us to the Arctic Circle to the island of Grimsey (Grimm´s Island). We will dine with the locals here and learn about life on the Arctic island. Charter flight back to Akureyri (30 min), where a night cap and dessert awaits at Eyja Wine Bar.
(1.5 hours on the road, a few hours aboard a boat, and 30 min in the air. Northern Lights possible by 4:40pm)
Day 6: Explore the Capital of the North (B, L, D)
Tour of Akureyri, “Capital of the North”. Akureyri is one of Iceland´s most significant trading towns in history. Learn about how Iceland survived during Danish rule until 1944 and went from being one of the poorest countries to one of the most wealthy countries.
Lunch will be served at Ilmur, one of Akureyri´s oldest and most picturesque buildings located on top of a hill. We will have an afternoon flight back to Reykjavik and dinner at the Óx restaurant, which is nothing short of an immersive theatrical experience—an intimate 17 seat chef´s table tucked behind a secret door on Laugavegur street. Óx is described as a marvelously theatrical evening that feels like dining in a dear friend´s home, elevated to Michelin star artistry.
(20 min on the road, 45 min in the air. Northern Lights possible by 5pm)
Day 7: Travel to a Nordic Secret in the North Atlantic (B, L, D)
One hour flight to the remote North Atlantic Faroe Islands, rugged beauty at the edge of the world. Fish lunch at Fiskistykkið úti á Gjógv in Sandavágar for a simplistic creative fish soup. The Faroe Islands economy is largely based on the fishing industry, where the world´s freshest ocean salmon comes from.
After lunch we will head to the capital, Tórshavn (Thor´s Harbor). Dinner is at PaZ, where you will have the opportunity to taste the Faroes in a distilled, artful form, where each bite tells a story of its origin. PaZ is ideal for food-focused travelers seeking quality and authenticity in a high-end setting.
(1 hour 20 min in the air, 2 hours on the road)
Day 8: Experience Faroese Traditions (B, L, D)

After ferry service back to Streymoy island, visit Tinganes and the national museum with a guided history tour of the Faroe Islands.
Dinner tonight is at the famous Ræst Restaurant. Ræst stands for fermentation, which was historically very important in preserving food both in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Ræst is part of the same culinary group as Michelin-starred KOKS. The restaurant is housed in a historic turf-roofed wooden building thought to be over 400 years old. The tasting menu focuses on fermented lamb, fish, kelp, and seafood.
(1 hour on the road, 30 min on sea)
Day 9: Walk the Northern Islands, Beer, and Whiskey (B, L, D)
A visit to the Faroe Islands would not be complete without a walk along the coast and canyon of Saksun during low tide. This is a stunning and breathtaking experience. Outdoor lunch experience on the coast of Saksun.
After we head to Klakksvik, the second largest town on the islands, for a visit and tasting at Föroya Bjór brewery and distillery. Talk with owner Einar about Einar´s famous whisky. Returning to Tórshavn, dinner will be at Barbara Fish Restaurant.
