Reykjavík: Northern Lights Tour with Chocolate & Surprise

Set off on a cozy small-group Northern Lights hunt as your guide leads you away from Reykjavík’s city lights and into the darker countryside. Traveling in a comfortable 16-seat minibus allows for a more personal, relaxed experience as your guide monitors cloud cover and aurora forecasts to find the most promising viewing location of the night.

During the journey, enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and water, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere on board. To make the evening even more special, each guest receives a small Icelandic surprise-a unique touch you won’t find on standard aurora tours.

When the conditions look right, step out into the crisp night air to watch the sky for the magical appearance of the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will offer photo tips, share stories, and help you understand the science and legends behind the lights. Enjoy plenty of time to view, photograph, and take in the moment before heading back to Reykjavík.

Begin your Northern Lights chase as your guide leads the group away from Reykjavík’s city lights and into the darker countryside. Your guide continuously monitors cloud cover and solar activity to select the most promising viewing location for the night. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere on board with hot chocolate, tea, and water as you travel.
Once the ideal spot is reached, step outside to observe the sky and wait for the Aurora Borealis to appear. Your guide will share tips, stories, and help you understand the science behind the lights. If the aurora shows up, you’ll have time to watch, photograph, and enjoy the moment before returning to Reykjavík.

• The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed.

• If no lights are seen, you will receive a free re-trial on another night (subject to availability).

• The tour may be rescheduled or cancelled due to weather or road conditions.

• Dress warmly with winter clothing, gloves, hat, and sturdy shoes-temperatures can be very cold at night.

• The viewing location is chosen based on real-time forecasts and may vary each night.

• There may be waiting periods while searching for the best aurora conditions.

• The Icelandic surprise is a small treat and may vary depending on availability.

• Tours from April 1 to April 15: please meet us at 22:00 at your selected pickup or meeting point.
