What to expect?
Join us on a private bespoke Golden Circle tour in a luxury vehicle, designed for comfort, flexibility, and a truly personal experience. This tour allows you to explore Iceland’s most famous sights at your own pace, away from large crowds.
The Golden Circle is famous not only because it is close to Reykjavík, but because it offers some of Iceland’s most beautiful landscapes, dramatic geology, and rich history. It is one of the most impressive sightseeing routes in the country.
The traditional Golden Circle includes Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall. These three iconic stops form the heart of the route and showcase Iceland’s natural power and heritage.
Your private tour can also include places such as Kerið Crater Lake, the Secret Lagoon, Skálholt, Laugarvatn Lake, Fontana Wellness, and Friðheimar Tomato Farm. These stops add variety and let you tailor the day to your interests.
We will adjust the itinerary as much as possible to suit your wishes and travel style. If you have special requests, you can easily contact us before or after booking.
Þingvellir is one of Iceland’s most important historical sites and is where the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi, was founded in the year 930. It is also one of the few places on Earth where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge can be seen above ground.
Here you can walk through the Almannagjá rift, visit the site of the old parliament, admire Öxarárfoss waterfall, and enjoy stunning scenery. You can also see filming locations from Game of Thrones and the shores of Iceland’s largest lake, Þingvallavatn.
Þingvellir is also where Iceland officially adopted Christianity more than 1,000 years ago. In 2004 it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its historical, cultural, and geological importance.
Gullfoss is one of Iceland’s most powerful and famous waterfalls, dropping in three steps into a deep canyon. Because of the mist and the shape of the gorge, the water often looks as if it disappears into an abyss.
In the early 1900s, plans were made to use the waterfall for electricity, but Sólveig Tómasdóttir fought to protect it. Thanks to her, Gullfoss remains one of Iceland’s greatest natural treasures.
The Geysir geothermal area is filled with bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers. The word “geyser” comes from the original Geysir, which once sent boiling water high into the air.
Although Geysir is now mostly inactive, its neighbor Strokkur erupts every few minutes. Strokkur shoots hot water up to 30 meters into the sky, giving visitors a thrilling show.
Kerið is a striking volcanic crater filled with bright blue water and surrounded by red volcanic rock. The colors come from iron in the soil, creating a dramatic contrast against the lake.
The crater is part of Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone and is one of the most beautiful crater lakes in the country. It is a popular photo stop on the Golden Circle route.
You can also add special experiences to your private tour for an extra fee. These activities extend the tour and are charged separately.
Silfra is a crystal-clear fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, filled with glacial meltwater that offers over 100 meters of visibility. Floating through it in a dry suit is a truly unforgettable experience.
At Laugarvatn Fontana you can relax in geothermal pools, steam rooms, and hot tubs with views over Lake Laugarvatn. The natural steam rises from the ground, creating a soothing and authentic spa experience.
The Secret Lagoon is Iceland’s oldest swimming pool, first built in 1891, and is fed by natural hot springs. The water flows constantly and stays warm at 38–40°C all year.
Friðheimar offers a unique dining experience inside a working tomato greenhouse, where you can enjoy fresh tomato soup and bread surrounded by growing plants. Tomatoes are grown here year-round using artificial light.
All additional activities such as snorkeling, spa visits, glacier hiking, or snowmobiling are charged separately. Extra hours added to the tour will also increase the total price accordingly.
