What to expect?
Join us at the Old Harbour in Reykjavík, where we'll board the ferry to tranquil Viðey Island. Don't miss the captivating views of the Reykjavík skyline and the surrounding area. If luck is on our side, we may even witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Northern Lights.
The Imagine Peace Tower is illuminated one hour after sunset until midnight from October 9th (John Lennon's birthday) until December 8th (the day of his death). Additionally, it shines from the Winter Solstice until New Year's morning, on Yoko Ono's birthday, and during the week of the Spring Equinox. The tower's strength, intensity, and brilliance vary with the ever-changing weather conditions.
Yoko Ono chose Iceland as the host country for the monument due to its peaceful nature, lack of an army, and extensive use of sustainable geothermal energy, which powers the tower. You can also view an Imagine Peace Tower live stream from Skarfabakki pier in Reykjavík.
