Our fabulous combined tour gives you the opportunity to try out two exciting water adventures in one day. Join us and tick off two bucket-list adventures whilst Snorkelling in Silfra and Whale Watching in the open ocean.

What to expect?
On this tour, we work together with Dive.is to maximise your snorkelling experience.You will be picked up for your fabulous adventure day from your hotel or designated bus stop by Dive.is's personal shuttle bus. The bus will be taking you to Þingvellir National Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is about 45 km from Reykjavík.
On-site, you will be geared up by your tour guide and shown the appropriate snorkelling methods. Once you are in the water, make sure to enjoy every moment of snorkelling in the crystal-clear glacial water in Silfra. Adding to that, you are swimming between two continents and get an excellent view of the crack separating the European and American continental shells. This really is a fantastic experience.
The total time of snorkelling is approximately 1 hour. After the snorkelling, you will be offered a well-deserved and very welcomed hot chocolate and cookies before heading back to Reykjavík for the next leg of the combo.
You will be driven back to Reykjavík in time for the Whale Watching Tour starting at 14:00 from the Old Harbour. The tour commences in our ticket office, where you will exchange your voucher for admission tickets, and from there, we will show you to the boat.
Onboard you will find several outdoor viewing platforms and a large indoor saloon with an onboard café. Here you can purchase light refreshments throughout your tour. We also have necessary bathroom facilities and a cloakroom where you can borrow one of our blankets or overalls on colder days.
You can either stay outside in the fresh air or stay inside the heated lounge and observe the views from within, through our large panoramic windows. In summer, we can expect to see minke whales at their most abundant, along with white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises, and even humpback whales.
After exploring the wonders of the whales and seabirds, Faxaflói offers you a return to the harbour around 17:00. You can choose to stay in the city centre area or ask our shuttle bus driver to take you back to your hotel or designated bus stop.
Requirements:
- All snorkelling participants must read and sign the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement and if necessary, follow the directions regarding a doctor's clearance for the tour.
- Be no younger or older than 16 - 65 years old
- Be between 150cm - 200cm and 45kg - 120kg
- Must not be pregnant
- Be physically fit
- Be ready to wear something tight and constricting dry suit
- Be comfortable in the water, and be able to swim
Please bring:
- Thermal underwear and thick wool socks
- Dress according to the weather
- Towel and swimwear
- Hat and gloves
- If participants wear glasses, we recommend wearing contact lenses as the masks are not suitable for glasses
