What to expect?
Hornstrandir is a magical nature reserve, full of charm and untouched beauty. One of its highlights is the Arctic Fox, which is surprisingly friendly because it can raise its young without fear of hunters. Guests often get close to playful cubs, making it a perfect spot for wildlife photography.
The only way to reach Hornstrandir is by boat, and the journey to Kvíar showcases the isolation and stunning landscapes of the Westfjords. Once there, you can hike in pristine nature, enjoy the company of Arctic Foxes, and explore the surroundings at a relaxed pace.
After a day of exploration, guests can enjoy a delicious home-cooked dinner in a restored farmhouse built in 1921. The combination of wildlife, hiking, and local hospitality creates an unforgettable experience in Iceland’s remote north.
