Bygdin: Hike & Dine Day Tour to Jotunheimen Highlands

In Eidsbugarden, a delicious meal awaits you at a traditional DNT-Lodge, Fondsbu. There might be no better places to eat lunch than in the heart of the mountains. Combine this with an easy hike to shake your legs in the area and you get the perfect getaway to the mountains with your friends or family. 

Itinerary

Boat from Bygdin to Eidsbugarden
09:05 – Your boat, the historical M/B Bitihorn, departs from Bygdin. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic journey across lake Bygdin with an impressive view on the surrounding mountains.

Arrival in Eidsbugarden
Shake your legs on a short hike in hiking paradise. You hike by yourself directly from the boat pier. There are plenty of possibilities to choose from, but we recommend you heading to Utsikten, an accessible hike offering a beautiful view on the surroundings.

Lunch in Fondsbu
After your hike, head to Fondsbu DNT-lodge where a delicious lunch will be served to you.

Boat from Eidsbugarden to Bygdin
15:30 – Your boat departs from Eidsbugarden and takes you back to Bygdin where your journey started. You are back in Bygdin at 17:15.

Trails

Our selected hikes are well-marked, and you should meet other hikers. The trails are often narrow and rocky, but without any technical difficulties. We still recommend ankle-height mountain boots and eventually hiking poles for your comfort.
