Trondheim: The Bymarka Escape

Start your adventure with a ride on Trondheim’s historic northern tram line – the world’s northernmost tram line – as it winds its way up from the city center into the heart of Bymarka’s forested hills. From the final stop, our guided hike begins.

This 6 km loop takes you through serene woodland trails, past two picturesque lakes — Kyvatnet and Lian — and offers panoramic views over Trondheim and the surrounding fjords. Along the way, we’ll also pass the city’s classic ski jump- for the trainings, a nod to the area’s rich winter sports history.

We hike at a relaxed pace with several breaks, perfect for taking in the scenery, enjoying a snack, or capturing photos of the stunning landscape.
