What to expect?
The Alta Fjord boasts two common whale species: sperm whales and killer whales (orcas), which linger in the area throughout winter. Along the way, you may also spot harbor porpoises and harbor seals.
Join our whale watching cruise, led by an experienced captain/guide, providing you with coveralls, fishing rods, life jackets, and a hearty lunch with a hot beverage. Ensure you dress warmly with suitable clothing, including headwear, mittens, and footwear.
Apart from the breathtaking whale sightings, the fantastic light conditions during darker periods can lead to earlier Northern Lights appearances on shorter days, adding to the wonder of the experience.
Please be aware that weather conditions significantly impact this tour. Whale sightings may be impossible if the weather isn't suitable or foggy. In such cases, we'll either wait for better conditions or offer an alternative excursion.
It's essential to note that the whales and sea mist are natural phenomena, and their visibility can't be guaranteed on every tour. Nevertheless, our experienced team will do their utmost to ensure an unforgettable and fulfilling adventure.
