Tromsø/Lyngen Alps: Crystal Lavvo Stay with Northern Lights, Snowshoeing, Meals & Transfers

Welcome to our Aurora Wonderland Basecamp, beautifully located in the scenic Lyngen Alps. Surrounded by dramatic fjords, mountains, and islands, and far from city lights, this is an ideal location for experiencing the northern lights with minimal artificial light pollution.

Step into your Crystal Lavvo for a once‑in‑a‑lifetime Arctic adventure. Each Lavvo is heated by a traditional wood‑burning fireplace and features a glass ceiling, allowing you to watch the sky throughout the night, even from the comfort of your bed. Enjoy the freedom of spending the entire night searching for the aurora from your warm and cozy Lavvo. With a bit of luck, you may even witness several different “releases” during the night.

Transfers

Please meet at 11:30 AM for departure at 11:45 AM at Prostneset Bus, Boat & Hurtigruten Terminal (Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø). Enter the terminal, go to the 1st floor, and proceed to the bus platform, where you will find a red Arctic Route bus. Guides will be present to assist you, and the bus is booked under your name.

The bus will take you to Breivikeidet, where you will board the ferry. After crossing, our team will meet you and transport you directly to the basecamp. Please keep an eye on your email and WhatsApp for any updates regarding your pickup.

Starting Point: Tromsø

Transportation to Basecamp

Enjoy a scenic journey that includes a short ferry ride and breathtaking views of the majestic Lyngen Alps, fjords, and mountain landscapes.

Lunch

Upon arrival, you’ll be served a freshly prepared fish soup (see allergy notes below) before preparing for the afternoon activity.

Activity

Join a guided 2 km hike—on foot or with snowshoes—through pristine Scandinavian nature. The route may be adjusted or canceled depending on weather conditions. A mini Aurora photography course is also included.

Evening

After dinner, we will brief you on the northern lights forecast and help you get the fire started in your Lavvo.

Lavvo Experience

Once your Lavvo is heated, a guide will escort you there and show you how to maintain and restart the wood‑burning fireplace. This is an authentic Arctic adventure where you add wood to the stove yourself.

Spend the night in your warm and cozy Lavvo, watching the sky through the glass ceiling or exploring the basecamp surroundings at your own pace.

Breakfast

The next morning, enjoy a traditional Norwegian breakfast before beginning the return journey to Tromsø. Arrival is approximately 11:00 AM.

Return to Tromsø

Your return follows the same scenic route, including a short ferry ride with beautiful views of the Lyngen Alps.

Important Information

• We can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten‑free, and lactose‑free diets, but not in combination (e.g., gluten‑free + vegan together). Please add dietary needs to your booking notes in advance.

• Each Lavvo accommodates up to 4 people, but we never mix guests who do not know each other.

• Shared bathroom/toilet facilities are available inside the villa, plus one outdoor toilet.

• This is not a driving northern lights chase—the entire experience takes place at the basecamp.

• Due to transportation capacity, each guest may bring one suitcase and one medium bag/backpack.
