Tromsø: Northern Lights Bus Tour

Join us for a magical Northern Lights adventure by bus! Our experienced guides are dedicated to giving you the best chance of seeing the aurora on your evening out together with us. We leave from the city center of Tromsø and travel in a comfortable bus to the most promising locations outside Tromsø.

Every stop is chosen depending on the weather conditions to maximize your chances of witnessing this natural wonder. 

Once we find the perfect spot, we make the experience cozy and warm; Our guides ensure you stay comfortable throughout the night , they’re happy to answer questions and share stories of life in the Arctic and they'll serve some hot drinks and biscuits to keep spirits high while we wait under the Arctic sky. If the weather allows, we’ll light a warming bonfire as well. Once the Northern Lights appear, the magic of this tour truly begins! Your photography guide will capture stunning portraits of you, and they can also help you take your own beautiful photos with expert tips and tricks, shared freely. 

We may visit several locations during the same night, to find the best conditions: open sky and limited light pollution. If the Northern Lights don’t show, we offer for you to join the same tour another evening at 50% off - optimizing your chances for a once-in-a-lifetime-experience together with us!

Digital Tour Photos

Professionally edited and made available for free download within 48 hours after your tour. Pictures will be stored for 2 months after the tour in a public online gallery. We also provide optimised images for printing, available for purchase on the same platform 

Good to know

• The time of return to Tromsø depends on the course of the tour: the distance of the chase, weather conditions and the northern lights displays. 

• We cannot guarantee seeing the northern lights, as they are a natural phenomenon. Still, we promise to use all our experience to maximize our chances of a successful chase.  

• There is no refund if the northern lights do not appear. However, you can book a second tour at 50% discount at our sales shop in Tromsø (Subject to availability, only valid for tours in 25/26 winter season) 

• This tour does not include dinner (full meal) 

Restrictions  

• Pets are not allowed on this tour 

• Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the tour. We reserve the right to refuse access to intoxicated guests.  

Accessibility information

The Northern Lights Bus Chase tour is accessible, with some difficulties concerning terrain and the stairs/toilet on the bus. Please inform us at least 24 hours in advance that a guest with disabilities is joining the tour, in order to make sure we can accommodate their needs. 

• Accessible for people with walkers/canes. 

• Accessible for manual wheelchair users that can walk a few steps 

• Wheelblades could be beneficial here for wheelchair/walker users  

• Features: Plenty of space underneath the bus for mobility aids. 

• There are stairs onto the bus. However, the guides on the tours will be more than happy to help guests up the stairs if they are unable and/or travelling alone. 

• Once we have reached the location, access to the outside terrain is varied. Some places have flat, open space; while others might have limited space to move around. Moving around outside the bus will be limited for disabled guests, e.g. beaches, slopes, etc. 

• There is a toilet on the bus, but it is very small (similar to an airplane toilet)
