What to expect?
Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure in the Norwegian wilderness? If so, join us for a day of fun and culture at our cozy Camp Tamok. You will start your journey from the heart of Tromsø, where a comfortable bus will take you through the stunning landscapes of snow-covered mountains and frozen lakes. The ride will last about 90 minutes, but you won’t be bored as you admire the beauty of our Arctic nature.
When you arrive at Camp Tamok, we will welcome you with warm winter clothes and all the gear you need for this amazing experience. You will then hop on a minibus for a short ride to meet our friendly reindeer herd. They are waiting for you to take you on a sleigh ride across the white fields. You will feel the thrill of gliding along with these gentle animals, who have been part of the Sami culture for centuries.
The Sami are the indigenous people of Norway, and they will share their stories and traditions with you. You will learn how to throw a lasso, how to feed the reindeer, and how to communicate with them. You will also have the chance to ask them any questions you might have about their lifestyle and history. There are 5 – 6 reindeer at the camp, and they will love to get to know you.
After this encounter, you will return to Camp Tamok, where a delicious hot meal will be waiting for you. You will enjoy it around an open fire in a traditional reindeer herder’s tent, feeling the warmth and coziness of the camp. You will also have some time to relax and chat with your fellow travelers, before boarding the bus back to Tromsø. Bring back with you memories and photos of a lifetime.
