Welcome to Tromsø, the capital city of Arctic Norway and a mecca for outdoor Winter adventures. This holiday package invites you to explore the Arctic capital, to go for a full day of dog sledding, and to join a Northern Lights photo cruise on the icy fjords.

What to expect?

Plan your Arctic holiday to Tromsø as a four, five or six nights stay.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, located in central Tromsø. Along with your booking confirmation you will receive a voucher for a three-star or better hotel, typically a Scandic, Thon or Radisson hotel. Present this voucher at the front desk to get your room. Your booking includes breakfast every morning for the duration of your stay.

Now, explore Tromsø. Did you know that this Arctic city has a relatively large cultural offering and is renowned for its vibrant nightlife? Why not enjoy a concert in the Arctic Cathedral or explore the Tromsø Ice Domes.

Dog sledding:
The next day, meet your guide at either 08.45am or 11.45am at Radisson BLU Hotel, Tromsø. Please check the correct departure time on your confirmation. Travel together to the husky kennel just about an hour from Tromsø, surrounded by mighty mountains and deep valleys.

Here you will be greeted by happy huskies eagerly waiting to take you out on a fantastic dog-sledding experience. We have comfortable and warm winter suits, winter shoes, and mittens to keep you warm during the dog sledding adventure (60 to 90 minutes’ drive).

After a short explanation of how to handle the dogs and sleds, we will leave in pairs. One will be the "musher" (driver), and the other will be on the sled. You change places along the way. The huskies love to run, but you have to be part of the team and help them up the slopes. It is a fun experience, but also a little physical workout...

This trip will give you a smile on your face and red roses on your cheeks. Back in the camp, hot soup and drinks await.
Our dog sledding trips include transportation, lunch, hot drinks and thermal wear (winter thermal suits, winter boots, socks, mittens and hats).

Northern Lights Photo Cruise:
On the evening of day three, meet up at 7pm at the harbour side of Kystens Hus, on Stortorget 1, in Tromsø.

Our boats lay right by the quayside of Kystens Hus in Tromsø center. The crew will welcome you aboard for our Northern Lights Photo Cruise. As soon as we set course, we show you the ship's amenities, the deck and indoor space, lavatories, safety equipment, and refreshments and invite you to listen to Northern Lights stories in the lounge. You may also enjoy the freedom to roam around the spacious outdoor deck or unwind indoors with a cup of coffee or tea.

The Northern Lights phenomenon is a sight to behold. There is something quite magical about seeing the colors dance across the sky and illuminate the horizon. Embark on a unique expedition in this Northern Lights Photo Cruise to hunt for the Northern Lights and witness its beauty first-hand. Keep the incredible memories with you forever!

Of course, we can't offer any guarantees since the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. Still, we promise to use all our experience to maximize our chances of a successful chase in this comfortable setting for observing them.

The course we set will depend on the weather forecast, and the cloud-free sky will define if you are going to see the Northern Lights. Once the conditions are right, the captain will slow down the boat, slowly drifting along with the current. The guide will help you set up your camera, and when the Northern Lights start to dance, he will offer to take photos for you.

For this tour, we use one of our three boats: MS Aurora Explorer (max. 145 pax), MS Leone (max 12 pax) or MS Strønstad (max 30 pax).
