What to expect?
Canyoning, as implied, requires going down and across a canyon. This is a fun and challenging adventure through the canyon, with via-ferrata, tight ropes, plunges into the river, bouldering, a zip line and swimming!
We start just below the famous Gudbrandsjuvet canyon, about 15 kilometers from Valldal, in the direction of Trollstigen. The course is set in a stunning canyon, where calm water from Reinheimen National Park flows between sheer granite walls. Inside the canyon, we have a series of obstacles, as we make our way down the canyon.
The first obstacle is a via-ferrata, followed by a rope bridge, that takes us to the other side of the canyon. Then we continue into the canyon with via-ferrata, a new balance bridge, before we do our first jump of the day from 3 meters high! After a short swim in the cool water, we climb up again, ready for more jumping, swimming, climbing and ziplining. The trip finishes with a swim through a white water rapid at the end of the canyon.
The highest jump you need to do is 3 meters, which is not very difficult for most people. You can avoid that jump, but you will miss out on a lot of fun. The highest jump you can do is 12 meters, but that is only for the bravest!
All equipment is included. Participants are provided with wetsuits, wet-jackets, shoes, life-preservers, helmets, climbing harnesses, and safety ropes.
Good to know
Participants must be at least 150 cm tall, know how to swim and be in normal physical shape
Meeting point: Bunnpris Valldal, Grandegata 38, Sylte
What to bring
Bring wool long underwear for better heat and comfort. A layer of wool beneath wetsuits dramatically increases warmth. On cold days we reccomend bringing a thin wool hat and a buff. Remember to bring dry clothes to change into, and a towel.
