Valldøla river is perfect for rafting. The exciting rapids with fresh and clear water coming from Reinheimen National Park, are spread out along the entire length of the 11km river. We can promise you excitement, swimming a rapid and not least served a local delicacy. Grading of the lower section of the Valldøla river which we raft, is grade 3. This means a lot of fun, but also calmer parts where you get to enjoy the scenery.

What to expect?
The trip starts at the activity center, where our welcoming guides will inform you about today’s trip and provide each guest with essential rafting equipment: wetsuits, rafting shoes, helmets, and life jackets. From our office, we will provide a transfer to the starting point of the rafting adventure. Here, the trip leader will give a thorough safety briefing before dividing the group into different boats, each with its own guide, and then the adventure begins!
Rafting Down the River
After some straightforward training in a safe area, the trip commences with thrilling rapids and waves on the initial section of the Valldøla. As the river calms, we take our first break on the riverbanks. All guests have the opportunity to swim through a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off from swimming in the river, we continue downstream, surrounded by high mountains and endless fields of strawberries.
Just over the halfway point, we make a stop for lunch along the river. We light a fire, warm some water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. It's a fantastic way to refuel before embarking on the final and swiftest section of the river, where the grade steepens and the rapids increase in both number and size.
After 11km of beautiful scenery, adventure, and excitement, the river flows quietly into Norddalsfjord through the Valldal village, where we head for shore. Back at the office, we dry off, warm up, and reminisce about the wonderful rafting trip.

What to bring
Bring wool long underwear for better heat and comfort. A layer of wool beneath wetsuits dramatically increases warmth. On cold days we reccomend bringing a thin wool hat and a buff. Remember to bring dry clothes to change into, and a towel.
