Experience the beauty of Bergen from a vantage point like no other. This is a medium 3-4 hours hike away from the crowds with great views of Bergen and the surrounding area. We hike literally on top of Bergen and go off the beaten track through woods, past lakes, and on paths where we can hear the silence.

What to expect?
We meet at the tourist office at Strandkaien 3 in the heart of Bergen. Your guide will provide an initial introduction and safety briefing. From there, you'll walk through the renowned fish market and then ascend to the top of Mt. Fløyen using the Fløybanen funicular.

Above Mt Fløyen the guide will take you through untouched terrain, reaching some higher summits with amazing views of Bergen and the ocean surrounding it. Our guide is local and will be able to tell you about Norwegian culture, habits and history.
After hiking for about 3 hours we will return to the town centre of Bergen and you can spend the rest of the day exploring Bergen town.
Recommended equipment:
Sturdy shoes, windproof jacket and trousers, sunglasses, food and drink. We also recommend bringing a light hat and gloves.
NOTE: As a participant, you must ensure that you use shoes that are suitable for hiking in wet/rough terrain. The guide can reject participants who do not have suitable shoes.
Rendezvous point/start: At the entrance to the Tourist Information, Strandkaien 3, Bergen.
Weather in the mountains:
This hike is offered throughout the year, and can be done in all seasons. Do not forget that the weather changes quickly, and it is important to dress accordingly. The hike is at an elevation of 400 m.a.s.l, where it is normally colder than in the city of Bergen.
The hike requires some experience of hiking and has a medium difficulty level. Most of the hike is in uneven terrain that may be wet, so proper hiking shoes are required.
