Hike with us from the Skjeggedal base all the way to Trolltunga's tip. Spend your night in a Sunset/Sunrise Dome overlooking the Trolltunga plateau. Enjoy dinner with a breathtaking view of the sunset to the West and stay awake if you like to witness the sunrise to the East.

What to expect?
Experience a true, out-of-the-ordinary adventure. Hike to the Trolltunga plateau and enjoy a sunset overlooking the iconic Trolltunga mountain formations. Dine amidst breathtaking views and enjoy the comforts of your dome as you take in the unique ambiance of this Norwegian mountain plateau.
Your dome is fitted with comfortable amenities and features a see-through ceiling, providing an immersive natural experience. The camp is a short walk from the main trail, offering an off-the-beaten-path retreat.
Our adventure begins at the Trolltunga Active base, located at P2 parking in Skjeggedal. Here, we’ll ensure you’re well-prepared for the exciting journey ahead.
No need to rush! Our tour is all about savoring the moment. As we hike through the landscape, take in the amazing views around you: mountain lakes, steep rock faces in the Ringedalen valley, and the distant Folgefonna glacier. Along the way, we’ll make brief stops to recharge and learn about the area.
About 3 kilometers before Trolltunga, we’ll pause at our campsite. Here, you can enjoy a cup of hot or cold beverages and some snacks. We’re almost ready for the final stretch.
Arriving at the iconic “Troll’s Tongue”, most other hikers will be on their way down and so we’ll have the privilege of experiencing this remarkable place without the usual crowds. Capture photos, explore the surroundings, and simply revel in the moment. A
lthough Norwegian summer days seem endless, we’ll eventually return to our cozy dome for a delicious dinner. The evening is yours to enjoy. Engage in conversations, play games, read Norwegian stories, or marvel at the changing colors of the sky.
After a restful night in the dome, wake up to a fresh morning. You have two options: embark on a second visit to Trolltunga while your guide prepares breakfast in the tent, or sleep in and wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
After breakfast, we’ll pack up and begin our hike back to civilization. Expect to return to the starting point between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM on the second day.
Practical information
Sleeping bags are available in the domes, and you will receive a sleep liner before the hike. While we provide an outdoor toilet, shower facilities are not available
We have three domes, and they fit 5 people each, in total 15 people maximum
A packing list and all necessary adventure information will be provided in your booking confirmation
The Trolltunga hike itself requires participants to be in good physical condition. It is not suitable for those with troublesome knees. Please inform us of medical conditions like asthma, epilepsy, etc.
We encourage you to join the information meeting at Trolltunga Hotel in Odda, held daily at 21:00hrs / 9:00pm. Here, the guides inform about the hike, equipment needed, the weather forecast, and more.
Meet the next day at the Trolltunga Active base at P2 parking in Skjeggedal, at 10:30am.

How to get to the Skjeggedal meeting point from Odda:
Our partner hotel Trolltunga Hotel offers free shuttle transportation when staying in the hotel in the shoulder season. This shuttle runs between February 16 to June 15, then again from September 15 to December 1.
During the high season, June 15 to Septemper 15, public transportation replaces the hotel shuttle. The stop for the public shuttle that will take you to the meeting point is 100 meters from the Trolltunga Hotel.
How to get to Odda from Bergen:
Bus 930 is a good option for traveling from Bergen to Odda. The bus departs from Bergen Bus Station and ends at Odda Bus Station. The bus departs once a day at 9:00 PM on weekdays and takes about 3 hours.

What to bring
For the excursion, participants need to pack food for two lunches and additional snacks such as sandwiches, nuts, or chocolate, and carry at least 2 litres of water. Essential gear includes hiking shoes, a wind- and waterproof shell jacket, a mid-layer, and warm clothes for stationary periods in the evening. Also, it's wise to bring spare socks, a cap or hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a headlamp. A backpack with a minimum capacity of 40 liters is necessary for sufficient storage.
