What to expect?
Designed for the passionate paddler, this course is set amidst the stunning backdrop of Norway’s pristine rivers. Participants will start off with a thorough review of skills, progressing to focus intensively on Grade 3 whitewater techniques.
The course includes mastering moves like front and side surfing, 360’s, boofing, and advanced river reading. While safety is our priority, we also sprinkle in tales of thrilling whitewater adventures from around the world, ensuring you’re both inspired and informed by course end.
Prerequisites for the Intermediate Kayak Course:
Completion of a Novice Course or equivalent confidence on grade 2 whitewater.
Experience paddling on grade 3 whitewater several times over the past year.
Proficiency in performing break-ins, break-outs, catching small eddies, and ferry gliding on grade 3 whitewater.
Ability to consistently and confidently roll on grade 2 whitewater.
Skills to safely self-rescue in grade 3 whitewater.

What to bring
Dress in kayaking attire, and if it's cold, wear thermal underwear. Pack a windstopper jacket, sunglasses, swimwear, wool or neoprene socks, and a change of clothes. Bring a two-day lunch pack, snacks like fruit or chocolate, and suncream for sunny days, and don't forget your adventurous spirit!
