What to expect?
IExplore rarely-used trails along the Lysefjord’s inner hillsides and ancient pine forests, all while learning about the area’s unique flora and fauna. The hike offers spectacular views of the Lysefjord, providing ample opportunities to capture unforgettable memories.
Your professional guide will meet you at a convenient time and location within a reasonable distance of Stavanger. The adventure begins with a 45-minute transfer to the base of the hiking trail, which includes a drive through the world’s longest underwater road tunnel. This journey sets the stage for the serene and scenic hike ahead.
To ensure a peaceful experience, your guide will lead you along a trail that is seldom traveled. If you do encounter others, they are likely to be locals, allowing you to truly enjoy the silence of nature and the breathtaking views of the Lysefjord. While you won’t see Preikestolen on this hike, you’ll be treated to authentic and unique vistas of the Lysefjord and surrounding mountains. The leisurely pace of the hike allows you to fully appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the fjord’s landscapes. After about 1.5 hours of hiking, your guide will find a picturesque spot for a break, where you can enjoy a small snack and a warm beverage before continuing the final hour of the hike.
If time permits, there are additional points of interest along the way or nearby, such as the petroglyphs at Solbakk or the delightful bakery on Buøy. These spots add an extra layer of cultural and culinary enjoyment to your hiking experience, making it even more memorable.
