What to expect?
Join us for a unique Winter adventure. While cold weather and snowy terrain may seem daunting, our experienced guide ensures your safety as you explore the stunning winter landscape of fjord-Norway. With fewer visitors during the low season, we often have the famous Preikestolen almost to ourselves.
Your day begins with a pickup from one of several designated locations in Stavanger. After a scenic 40-minute drive, we arrive at the trailhead, where restrooms are available. Here, our guide will brief you on the trail, expected conditions, and offer useful hiking tips. Once everyone is ready, the hike begins.
If conditions permit, the guide will lead you to hidden spots along the way. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to adjust clothing and equipment, rest, enjoy snacks, and take pictures. After approximately 2.5 hours of hiking, we reach Preikestolen, perched 604 meters above the Lysefjord. The sheer cliff face offers a breathtaking panoramic view, a well-deserved reward for your efforts.
After soaking in the scenery and relaxing, we begin our descent, which typically takes about 2 hours. Tired but satisfied, we return to the car and head back to Stavanger, reflecting on a day well spent.
Due to snow and ice, hiking to Preikestolen without a guide during the winter months (January – March) is not recommended. Our professional guides are trained to navigate the frozen landscape and rapidly changing winter weather conditions safely. They carry all necessary navigation, safety, first-aid, and outdoor winter equipment.
