Hiking tour to Taivaskero Fell in Levi

Experience the Breathtaking Beauty of Lapland on a Panoramic Hiking Adventure!

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning and drive you to Pallastunturi Visitor Centre, where your hiking journey begins. You can often see reindeer in the yard, because they climb up to the treeless fell plain to escape insects during the summer. Total hiking distance is 8,3 kilometres. Taivaskero Fell is one of the peaks of the Pallastunturi Fell, and it offers beautiful views in all directions. After a short walk, you can sit on the stairs of a weathered reindeer herder’s hut and admire the stunning fell landscape stretching before you.

Take a deep breath and enjoy the cleanest air in the world. The air quality is measured at the nearby Sammaltunturi weather station. There’s also an interesting piece of history associated with this place: back in 1952, the Olympic flame was lit from rays of the midnight sun at Taivaskero Fell. The trail continues through beautiful scenery to Laukukero Fell and then down an alpine ski slope to the Visitor Centre. The path is steep and rocky in places, so watch your step while you admire the wide-open fell landscape.

On the way back you will also visit Raekallio art gallery from where you can get cup of coffee and some small snacks. After the break, your guide will drive you back to your accommodation in Levi.
