What to expect?
This reindeer sleigh ride takes you deep into the wilderness, where you’ll learn facts about traditional reindeer husbandry from a genuine reindeer herder. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee with a bun around a campfire and learn about the life of reindeer and their herders.In the old days, the only means of winter transportation for the people of Lapland was on sleighs pulled by reindeer. Often, there would be as many as 25 - 30 reindeer in a long caravan.
You will experience this traditional, peaceful way of moving through snowscapes where the only sound you will hear is the light ringing of reindeer bells.
Fun fact: reindeer are semi-domesticated animals and an important part of Lappish culture and life.
