What to expect?
Deep within the Arctic circle lies a cluster of islands with sceneries so spectacular that they look like a fairy tale coming to life. The stunning fjords dotted by fishing villages and dramatic landscapes cutting through the water make this archipelago called Lofoten the most postcard-worthy place In Norway. Unwind from your daily hustle and spend a few hours in this haven of nature by booking Lofoten Lights’ winter guided tour.
On the tour day, you’ll be picked up at 9:30 am from your accommodation at Svolvær by the team in a minivan. The guide for the day is also a professional photographer, thus, taking fantastic pictures during the trip will not be a problem, but please bring a good camera. The tour is going to take five hours to complete so make sure you have packed something to munch and sip on during the drive.
Once you’ve settled in the minivan, it is time to embark on a memorable drive through the Lofoten islands, where breathtaking views await you at every corner. The first stop is Kabelvåg, a village in Austvågøya with rewarding views of a fjord and a historical church that dates back to the 1200s. Another popular place you’ll visit is Henningsvær, a fishing village in Vågan municipality where several islets spread across the area with a backdrop of historical architecture and towering mountains.
Next, the trip will continue to villages Bøstad and Laupstad, where nature’s bounty blooms through the wildlife, sea, and wild rocks. And lastly, you will visit the village Gimsøy, home to an old wooden church and splendid scenery. At each pit stop, the guide will share history-related facts and stories while you hop out of the van and capture the experience in pictures. After spending 5 hours roaming the islands, it is time to head back to your accommodation.
