From Bardufoss: Northern Lights & Sauna at Aurora Sky Point

Your adventure begins at Basecamp Snowman with a pre-show that imparts informative and engaging stories about the Northern Lights. Following the pre-show, you will change into warm winter attire and venture into the frosty polar night to chase the elusive Northern Lights at the Aurora Sky Point — just a short walk from the basecamp. During this time, feel free to build a snowman, frolic in the pristine snow, go tobogganing, or even rent snowshoes for a different kind of fun.

Accompanying you will be a professional photographer to assist in capturing the best possible photos of the Northern Lights if they appear. However, photographing the Northern Lights is challenging and obtaining a high-quality image necessitates good camera equipment. Mobile phone cameras are generally inadequate for this purpose. We recommend bringing your own superior camera equipment, but rest assured that if you cannot bring your own, photographs taken during the expedition will be made available to you afterward.

Warm beverages such as coffee and tea will be served beside an open fire either in a cozy hut or outdoors, weather permitting. Please be aware that the primary objective of this activity is to witness the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights, hence there is no guarantee of a sighting during your experience. Spend some time in the steamy Sauna, relax, and enjoy the heat. If you feel the need to cool down, you are welcome to try the classic “snow roll” in the powdery snow outside the Aurora Hut! When it’s time, we move outdoors for the best chance to see the Northern Lights. Our Aurora Hut has windows in the ceiling, so you can observe the Northern Lights even if you need to step inside to keep warm. On the bonfire we make traditional grilled cheese sandwiches, even some with Norwegian brown cheese! Stay warm with the traditional hot drink “gløgg”, filled with classic winter spices.
