What to expect?
Join us for a memorable reindeer sledding experience in the stunning scenery of the Lyngen Alps. You will get to know our herd of 200 friendly reindeers, feed them, and learn about the Sami culture and history from our knowledgeable guide.
During the 30-minute sleigh ride, you will enjoy the beautiful nature around us and the wonderful night sky from the north. You might even hear the sound of the Northern Lights, as the Sami people believe. We cannot guarantee that you will see the Aurora, but we have a great location with very little light pollution and a cozy Gamme (traditional Sami hut) where you can warm up and have a delicious meal.
Inside the Gamme, you will taste our traditional reindeer stew (Biddos) or a vegetarian option, and some hot drinks. Our guide will also share stories and show you some of our traditional handicrafts and clothes. You are welcome to ask questions and participate in the conversation.
Please note that the reindeer sledding is subject to good snow conditions and sometimes we have to adjust the duration of this activity. If the weather does not allow us to run the sled-ride at all, we will offer you a partial refund. The rest of the tour will be held as normal.
All animals participating in these services are trained for the activity, but their behaviour can be unpredictable. Therefore, it is essential that you follow all the instructions given by our guide for your safety and the safety of others.
The sledding takes place as a “raid” where each reindeer and sled are bound together in a long row with the lead reindeer in the front. This means that sleds are shared, two participants per sled.
