What to expect?
On the Tyssedal Via Ferrata, we follow the footsteps of “rallarane” - the construction workers. They manually built the penstock in very high altitudes and harsh winter conditions along the mountainsides. The tour starts with a visit to the Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry. With a short film about the history of the area and an excursion inside the former power station, it is much easier to understand all the stories and things you see on the Via Ferrata!
After the Museum tour, we head towards the exciting climb along the five gigantic pipelines. Your guide will explain to you the use of the climbing gear and give you safety instructions. Then you are ready for the challenge! While climbing the Via Ferrata, you get better and better views over Sørfjorden, part of the Hardangerfjord and the Folgefonna National Park. Tyssedal Via Ferrata is simply the perfect way to learn about history and at the same time, enjoy the incredible scenery around you.
