After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 11:00 to start your day tour. You will drive to the city center to collect your bike and discover Gothenburg in a free and sporty way. First, you will see the Gothenburg Museum of Art from the outside, have a nice photo taken by our tour guide, and receive detailed information about the museum.
Then visit Gustav Adolfs Square, where you will learn about King Gustav Adolf and his statue, the City Hall, and the stock exchange building dating back to the 16th century.
Afterward, take a ride along the coast of the North Sea and enjoy the wind on your face as you cycle along uncrowded roads. End the tour by visiting the Haga district, the old town of Gothenburg dating back to 1648, where most houses are constructed of wood. Enjoy Nordic life by having fika in one of the Swedish coffee shops and browsing cozy local shops.
Finally, visit Liseberg from the outside. It is an amusement park located in the center of Gothenburg that opened in 1923. It is the most visited amusement park in Scandinavia, attracting about three million visitors annually. At the end of the tour, we will drop you back at your hotel. Day 3: Discover Gothenburg by Boat
After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up at 13:30 to start your tour. We will drive you to the city center to board your boat and discover Gothenburg in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Lejontrappan is the starting point for the boat ride and is one of the most famous spots in Gothenburg. Lejontrappan is a Swedish word meaning “The Lion Stairs.”
Enjoy a boat ride on the Göta River through Gustav Adolfs Square, where you will see and learn about King Gustav Adolf’s statue, which has stood in the square since the late 17th century. You will also see and learn about the stock exchange building dating back to the 18th century, constructed in the Neoclassical style.
After that, the boat will take you past the German Church, also called Christinae Church, located in the city center of Gothenburg. Named after Queen Christina, it was inaugurated in 1748 and used by the German and Dutch congregation.
Additionally, enjoy a boat ride in the open North Sea area at Lilla Bommen, part of Gothenburg Harbor used for visiting boats and also the name of the surrounding area. The eponymous building, along with the Göteborg Opera House and the barque Viking, are located at Lilla Bommen. Water and snacks will be served during the boat tour.
End the tour by enjoying the view and history of Feskekörka, a Swedish word meaning “the Fish Church.” It is an indoor fish market in Gothenburg, named for the building’s resemblance to a Neo-Gothic church. It opened on 1 November 1874 and was designed by city architect Victor von Gegerfelt. At the end of the tour, we will drive you back to your hotel. Overnight at Hotell Onyxen Gothenburg.
